There are a ton of ways to share photos online: from Facebook, Flickr, Blogs, Mini blogs like Tumblr and the most notable recent success in the mobile field, Instagram. There’s another player coming to the mobile space that wants to combine to user experience of Tumblr with the ease of use with Instagram. Enter Lightbox.

Photos are automatically organized into a timeline of postcards “that capture moments from your life.”

lightboxUsing Lightbox is Simple

Users can choose to “follow” another user with a button next to which their social stats display, including the number of photos posted, number of followers and the number of people they’re following in return. One user I saw in the Android market called it “the only true Instagram competitor”. That should be music to the founders ears.

When you hover over one of the photos, you can click a “heart” button indicating you like the photo or the group of photos. You can then view these favorites later on from your profile section. On an individual photo’s page you can comment, Tweet, share to Facebook and Google+.

If you’ve got an Android phone (it’s Android only for now) and have been looking for a cool app to share more of your stuff, lightbox, looks to be a cool simple way to accomplish it.

You can download the app here, from the Android market.
